TAMAL TOV (ТОВ «ТАМАЛ», ЄДРПОУ 34303193) built the Gallery: Art Quiz app. This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of Your information when You use the Service, and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You.
The short version: Gallery: Art Quiz is a single-player quiz about paintings, and it works entirely offline. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, no purchases and makes no network requests of any kind — every one of the 450 photographs it shows is inside the installed application, not fetched from anywhere. We do not collect, transmit or share any personal data about You. The only information the app stores is your own progress, and it never leaves your device.
The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
Personal Data: None. We do not ask for, collect or receive your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, location, or any other personally identifiable information.
Usage Data: None. The Application contains no analytics, no advertising SDK and no crash-reporting SDK. We do not collect your IP address, device identifiers, advertising ID, operating system details or any diagnostic data, and no such information is transmitted anywhere.
Accounts: None. The Application has no sign-in, no registration and no user accounts of any kind. There are no purchases and no subscriptions.
User-generated content: None. The Application is a single-player quiz. There is no chat, no messaging and no way for one player to see another player's content.
Leaderboards: None. The Application includes a daily challenge that is the same ten questions for every player, but that is arithmetic, not a network feature: the questions are derived from the calendar date alone. Nothing about your attempt is uploaded, and there is no ranking of players against one another.
The Application writes two entries to the device's own app storage. Both are readable only by the Application and neither is ever uploaded, transmitted or shared.
gallery.progress.v1 holds your progress, so that it is still there the next time you play:
gallery.lang.v1 holds one value: which of the three interface languages you chose, so the Application does not ask again on the next launch.
That is the whole of it. There is no identifier of you or of your device among those fields, and nothing in them could identify a person. You can erase all of it at any time by uninstalling the Application. Because this data never leaves your device, there is nothing for Us to delete on our side and no request to Us is necessary.
The Application does not contact any server. It works with the device offline, in airplane mode, and no feature requires a connection. Like most applications built with this framework, the Android package declares the standard INTERNET permission, but the Application makes no network requests and sends no data. Declaring a permission is not the same as collecting data, and nothing leaves the device.
The Application also contains no over-the-air update component, so it does not contact an update server when it launches.
The Application contains no third-party advertising networks, no analytics providers, no social network integrations and no third-party game services. No Service Provider processes data on Our behalf in connection with the Application, because no data is collected.
The Application shows 450 photographs of paintings from the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art, the Rijksmuseum and the Art Institute of Chicago. Every one of them is published by the holding museum under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) public domain dedication, every one is bundled inside the application package, and each keeps a record of its title, artist, year, movement, holding museum and the museum's own page for that work. Displaying a painting reads it from the device's storage and does not contact the museum or any other server.
The typeface is Droid Serif, used under the Apache License 2.0. The decorative frames and interface elements were generated for this application.
We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise share personal data, because we hold none. There is no personal data to disclose to affiliates, business partners, other users or any third party.
We retain no personal data, so there is no retention period to state. The progress described above stays on your device for as long as you keep the Application installed, and is under your control alone.
No data is transferred. Nothing is sent to Our servers, to another country, or to any third party, because the Application does not transmit information.
Everything the Application stores can be erased by you, at any time, without contacting Us: uninstall the Application and it is gone with it. Android's own "clear app data" has the same effect without removing the app.
In a merger, acquisition or asset sale, or in response to a lawful request from a court or public authority, We could only disclose data We actually hold. As set out above, We hold no personal data relating to users of the Application.
The strongest protection available is not to collect data in the first place, which is the approach this Application takes. Your progress is held in the Application's private storage and is protected by the operating system's own sandboxing between apps. Android Auto Backup is switched off for this Application, so not even a platform backup copies that file off the device.
The rights granted by the Ukrainian law on personal data protection, by the GDPR, and by equivalent laws such as the Brazilian LGPD — access, correction, deletion and portability — are respected in full. In practice there is nothing to exercise them against: We process no personal data, and the only stored information is on your own device and under your direct control.
The Application is not directed at children. We collect no personally identifiable information from anyone, of any age, so no information about a child can reach Us. If You are a parent or guardian and have a question about the Application, You are welcome to contact Us at the address below.
The Application contains no links to third-party websites and does not open external services. The museum page recorded for each painting is stored as text for provenance and is not a link the Application will follow. This section is retained only so that it remains accurate if that ever changes: were such a link added, We would have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content or privacy practices of that third party.
We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
Because We hold no contact details for You, We cannot notify You by email. Any change will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
